SOME MEMORIES DON’T FADE WITH TIME—THEY ONLY GROW LOUDER IN YOUR HEART. 🇺🇸🎶❤️

Just a few snapshots. A few hundred of my “closest friends.” And another 4th of July Picnic that somehow became one of those days you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

There is something special about the Fourth of July in Austin. Maybe it’s the Texas heat hanging in the air, the sound of guitars drifting across the crowd, or the sight of thousands of people coming together with nowhere else they would rather be. Whatever it is, you can feel it long before the first song begins.

And this year, bringing the Picnic home made that feeling even stronger.

For decades, the 4th of July Picnic has never been simply about putting musicians on a stage. It has been about people. Families. Old friends. New friends. Generations standing side by side beneath the Texas sky, sharing songs that have followed them through different chapters of their lives.

You look around and realize that everyone has a story.

Some people remember Picnics from years ago, when they were younger and life seemed endless. Some are experiencing the tradition for the very first time. Parents bring their children. Friends reunite after months or even years apart. Strangers exchange smiles, sing the same lyrics, and for a few unforgettable hours somehow stop feeling like strangers.

That is the magic of music.

It turns a crowd into a community.

And Austin, you reminded us of that once again.

From the moment the music started, the energy was impossible to ignore. There were guitars ringing through the air, voices singing along, laughter between songs, and that unmistakable feeling that something bigger than a concert was happening.

There were no strangers in that crowd—just a few hundred, or maybe a few thousand, of my closest friends. ❤️

That has always been the spirit of the Picnic.

It isn’t about perfection. It isn’t about fancy stages or carefully rehearsed moments. It’s about showing up exactly as you are, finding a place among the crowd, and allowing the music to carry you somewhere for a little while.

Maybe that’s why these gatherings stay with us.

Years from now, we may forget exactly what time the first song started. We may forget what we were wearing or where we parked the car. But we’ll remember how it felt when the crowd erupted. We’ll remember looking around and seeing people singing with their arms around each other. We’ll remember the warmth of the Texas evening and the songs floating beneath the summer sky.

Those are the memories that refuse to disappear.

So thank you, Austin.

Thank you for the music.

Thank you for the laughter.

Thank you for the energy, the friendship, the stories, and the love.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who keeps showing up year after year and turning a simple gathering into a tradition that feels like coming home.

Because when the guitars are playing, the crowd is singing, and friends are gathered beneath that wide Texas sky, you understand something very simple:

There really is nothing like bringing the 4th of July Picnic home. 🇺🇸🎸✨

Another Fourth of July.

Another collection of photographs.

Another night filled with songs, smiles, and hundreds of our closest friends.

And another beautiful memory we’ll carry with us long after the final note fades away. ❤️
